R+T 2018 – A resounding success for Bircher
BBC Bircher Smart Access recently appeared at R+T 2018, featuring its new name, new look, and strengthened team for the very first time. Under the motto “Experience Smart Access”, Bircher took the opportunity to showcase its latest innovations and all-round expertise as a solutions provider. The company’s participation in the event met with a unanimously enthusiastic reception from an international audience.

Save energy at the touch of a button with AXS3D
The presentation of the AXS3D sensor system proved a real crowd-puller for Bircher. Bircher presented a visual representation of the energy-saving potential of a height-adjustable opening using silhouettes of vehicles passing through a vertical door. The resulting energy losses were then clearly depicted in the form of heat images. This convincing presentation demonstrated how industrial doors could be operated more efficiently using the new system. The sensor solution was complemented by an energy-saving calculator and a mobile app for sensor configuration as part of the overall package.

Appearance rounded out with highlights RFGate 3 and ExpertLine
Bircher showcased its new RFGate 3 wireless signal transmission system for the very first time, which offers – at safety category 3 – the highest level of security available on the market. Together with the new, high-performance generation of ExpertLine safety edges, Bircher is setting new standards when it comes to gate protection. The trade fair proved to be an ideal platform. The huge interest shown by the crowds of international visitors demonstrated a growing demand for energy efficiency, uncompromising protection, and smart sensor solutions.
“Our internal project name for our participation in the trade fair was Bircher rocks R+T 2018”, reveals Christoph Erb, Head of Sales for Central, Eastern & Southern Europe. “Our aim was to wow customers and trade fair visitors with our company and innovations. It didn’t take long for us to realise we had achieved this objective when the positive feedback started flooding in over the course of the event. I think it would be fair to say we rocked R+T. We exceeded our targets for the trade fair by a long way. We are looking forward to getting started on our promising follow-up work now that the fair is over, and can’t wait to impress our new and existing customers with our smart products and solutions.”
The world’s leading international trade fair for roller shutters, doors, gates and sun protection systems – or R+T 2018 for short – was in full swing from 27 February to 3 March 2018, presenting the best the industry has to offer from the Stuttgart exhibition centre. With 1027 exhibitors from 41 countries and over 65,500 visitors from around the world (59,057 in 2015), it most definitely lived up to its reputation as the industry highlight of the year once again. The event featured a whole host of innovations spanning a whole host of topical fields, including building automation, energy efficiency, safety, security and convenience.
