Airwave technology: control and
manage pressure waves perfectly
- Millions of units successfully in service
- Very fast switching behaviour
- Simple and safe control of electric switching operations
Airwave technology – for automatic doors, gates and switches
Safety thanks to tried-and-tested technology
Airwave switches are principally used on larger gates and on access systems for various vehicles in public transport.
When a airwave profile is compressed, the air volume it contains is displaced in a pulsed manner and this generates a pressure wave. This wave passes through the connecting hose into the PW switch directly, where it triggers a switching operation.
Electric contact is maintained for as long as the input pressure is above the response pressure. Just a slight pressure of 3 to 4 mbar is all that is needed to effect switching.
